The Brescia-based company GIVI secured the top prize in the “generational transition” category at the prestigious and highly coveted BtoB Awards, organized in collaboration with various trade associations across Lombardy.
Now in its 12th edition, the Awards paid tribute to the company which began in Brescia to become one of the leading international players in the design, manufacture and sale of accessories for two-wheeled vehicles, with collaborations that include renowned brands like Honda and Ducati. GIVI was specifically recognised for its exemplary commitment to business continuity, maintaining stable leadership under the descendants of its founder, Giuseppe Visenzi.
Established in 1978 as the result of the latter’s commitment and dedication, in the wake of his eventful riding career, GIVI is now in the capable hands of CEO Hendrika and Managing Director Umberto Visenzi, the founder's daughter and grandson, respectively. This long-running family affair has consistently been driven by a desire to explore new markets, employing innovative production strategies and an ever-expanding distribution network. It represents an evolution, rather than a transformation, of the core principles that have defined GIVI since its founding nearly half a century ago.
“Success doesn’t happen by chance”, as the saying goes, and there’s no more fitting way to describe Umberto Visenzi’s personal journey. Upon accepting the award, he shared a number of anecdotes from his path of learning and growth, starting with his studies for a degree in engineering, followed by his hands-on experience in the field when he founded a company in the polyurethane moulding industry. The next chapter marked the beginning of the family business, and an experience that still has plenty of challenges left in the tank.
