For 2017 GIVI has significantly increased its presence on the racing scene and we are happy to announce that some extra prestigious and strategic agreements have been inked in the last few days.

We want to start with the longest lasting relationship of them all, the one that brought us not one but two MotoGP race victories last year: of course we are talking about Team LCR Honda, owned and managed by Lucio Cecchinello. The Team will hand its RC213V over to British rider Cal Crutchlow for one more year and we are all expecting some extra sweet memories after what he achieved in 2016. Not only he won two races (Czech Republic GP in Brno and Australian GP in Phillip Island) but he was also the first British doing so after a dry spell of 35 years: it was infact 1981 when the legendary Barry Sheene last won a GP, in Sweden.
For 2017 GIVI and Ducati Corse confirmed their partnership as well, and our logo will grace the livery of the mighty Desmosedici. Factory riders will be the confirmed Italian Andrea Dovizioso and the 3x MotoGP World Champion, the freshly signed Jorge Lorenzo from Spain. He has a lot to prove and the World is watching, so it will be fun!
New for 2017 is the agreement we recently signed with Team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, with their two riders competing in the World Superbike and World Supersport Championships. In the SBK class the Team will field a rookie, the Swiss Randy Krummenacher, while in the World Supersport class it will be the reigning World Champion and true living legend, the Turkish Kenan Sofuoglu, to fight in their corner. Can he make it 3 in a row, for a total of 6 World titles? We surely hope so!

Roadracing won't be the only discipline GIVI will be involved with for 2017. Many of you already noticed the great efforts we put in supporting Teams and riders competing in off-road events all over the World.
For 2017 we already confirmed our collaboration with Team HRC Monster Energy Honda Rally. They dominated several stages at this year Dakar Rally last January, and they will keep fighting to grab the overall crown of the 2017 World Rally Raid Championship. Along the way they will also race the Baja Aragon Rally in Spain, the Sardinia Rally in Italy and the Vegas to Reno in Nevada, (USA). Many more exotic locations are on the calendar, too, like Argentina, Chile, Morocco and China.
Two more legendary off-road riders will fight for the GIVI colors in 2017.
The first is our local hero, the Italian Alessandro Botturi, two time ISDE Champion and rally specialist. Unfortunately he was forced out of the Dakar Rally this year after a scary high speed crash in the early stages, but he's healing fast and already promised to come back with some extra motivation for the season. He will race for Factory Yamaha.
Another Italian, Paolo Ceci, sported our colors at the Africa Eco Race rally, the tough race that follows the original itinerary of the Paris-Dakar Rally after it moved to South America.
Paolo had a good shot at the overall win but had to settle for a class win (the Open, 450+ class) after his Honda Africa Twin suffered a few technical problems halfway through the race. Paolo, who has been recently appointed as the official itinerary tracer of the Italian Motorally Championship, will also compete in a handful of international rallies along the year.

We know it's a lot of information and there are many riders and disciplines to follow but don't worry: we will help you staying on top of it all by constantly updating GIVI Social Media Channels and publishing our new, monthly GIVI Explorer newsletter. Don't forget to check it out!
